This is so true. And unfortunately for people who don’t want to be public, the benefits for both yourself and your business are enormous. I used to be one of those people before I started writing on Substack. What makes mesad is that there are so many incredible people with valuable experience who stay silent, while people with plenty of time but not much to say can flood the internet with low-value content. Not generalizing, of course, but still true.
Having seen the impact in my own experience, both professionally and personally, I couldn’t recommend it more. Put your thinking out there. Share what you know. People are paying attention.
A lot of founders focus on building the company brand and forget that trust usually starts with a person. The idea of the Invisible CEO Tax really stood out
It makes think that thank God that I started my journey back in Twitter showing my face instead of followng the thread of the "anonymous accounts". For a person that doesn't like to be in public light, it was quite the challenge but looks like it was the right choice going into this era of AI fakes.
Such a great piece, Dennis.
It's so true that every startup thinks the logo is the most important thing.
When it always comes down to people, connection, and storytelling.
Exactly! The logo is just the visual part of a bigger picture… well, it’s supposed to be 🤣

Great article and message!
Wow! Totally nailed it with the “while people with plenty of time but not much to say can flood the internet with low-value content.”
But I really think most of them disappear at some point soon. We just need to keep going… they will drop off.
Appreciate you 🙏🏼🧡
Hiding behind the brand is just accountability avoidance with better typography.
Love it. That typography can make you feel bold 😎
Your logo can’t get embarrassed, which is probably why founders like hiding behind it.
The real bit is that people trust the person who’s willing to be seen more than the perfect-looking brand with nobody home.
Speaking of faces, it’s great to see YOURS again, Dennis!
Every post or thought you put out there is a deposit you can't make up for later with a bigger ad budget.

This was a pretty well crafted piece.

So so true… I wonder how you define the cadence of putting sth out for level 1-5 breakdown. Thanks, Dennis!
